9 May 14 (Friday)

Dear children,

It was a joy for me to have Thaneeisha, Elizabeth and Richelle receive their HARP badges today from Mdm Freda. I hope all of you can see them as good examples of diligent readers. Aim to read as many books as Richelle, our class champion for this month! :)

We had our first unseen dictation passage tested during the spelling test today. I could see some of you spelling confidently while others had to struggle a little. The passage was a familiar one, since you would have come across it during your English Test. I hope spelling those familiar words was easy for you ! :)

We also had a Listening Comprehension Practice Test to prepare you for the actual test next Thursday. I'll try to put up some related stuff on AskNLearn on Monday to help you prepare further for Thursday's test.

We managed to complete our unit on Picture Graphs today. With the help of the seven responsible Class Checkers, I'm quite sure you would have done most of your self-corrections before submitting. We'll move on to the next unit on Fractions once we're done with the final corrections in those three booklets on Monday.

Here are some announcements and reminders for today:

1) Pass the letter on Conversational Chinese and Malay Languages Programmes to your parents. They will need to know that you will be going through 5 days of that programme in Week 9 and Week 10. The lessons will be held during the first two periods from 1.15 to 2.15 p.m.. You will be informed again when the books are ready for you to buy them.

2) You will soon be participating in a weekly Speech & Drama Programme made up of 9 sessions. A special drama teacher will be coming in during our English periods on Wednesdays from 1.15 to 2.15 p.m. to train you. For this term, there will be two sessions -- one on next Wednesday, and another on the Wednesday after that. The rest of the 7 sessions will be conducted in Term 3. All these sessions will train you to put up a stage performance on 8 August. It will be hard work, but it will be a very good experience too. Look forward! :)

3) Pass the letter on the Parenting Seminar to your parents. Please inform them to ignore the third page because the information printed on it is wrong.

4) If you have not passed me your "Catch Me Doing Right" card, please do so on Monday. Monday is your last chance.

5) If you have not submitted your Math Test paper and/or Milestone Check, please do so on Monday.

6) Mrs Jamal wants your Social Studies Activity Book. If you have not submitted it to her, please do so by Monday. She wants to mark and return it to you as soon as she can so that you can prepare early for your Social Studies Quiz on 20 May.

Have a blessed weekend with your parents. See you on Monday! :)
