3 July 14 (Thursday)

Dear children,

We started our time today with math and tried some challenging problems on fractions. You also learnt to explain, by drawing, how one fraction is greater than another fraction. Which fraction is bigger, one-quarter or one-sixth? What about half and one-third? Which is smaller? Try explaining these to your parents by drawing. :)

Having mastered fractions, we will move on to learn about mass tomorrow.

During English lesson, we sang the Caterpillar Song together before reading a new book, "A Butterfly Is Born".  From the book, we learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and some new vocabulary like "caterpillar", "nectar", "crumpled", "flutter", "pupa" and "chrysalis" before putting them to use in a vocabulary exercise. When we discussed about the book, many of you were very curious and asked many questions related to caterpillars and butterflies. I don't have the answers to some of your questions, so I would like to learn from you too! If you have time tonight or tomorrow morning, log on to the Internet and try reading more about caterpillars and butterflies. I hope some of you can share your findings with the class tomorrow. :)

There will be an attire check tomorrow in the hall. Look your best. Remember to bring your thermometer too.

Have a restful evening with your family. See you tomorrow! :)
