2 September 14 (Tuesday)

Dear children,

Today, you received the composition you wrote for the English Composition Test. The top scorers from our class are:

  • Seth (18 marks)
  • Ashley, David, Raeann, Thaneeisha and Luke (17 marks)
  • Natalie and Zane (16 marks)
Overall, our class did fine with a class average of 14 marks. However, I think we should be aiming to write better. Let's work on it together. We have about 48 days to your English Composition Examination. Let's work hard together.

We spent some time filing our English and Math assessment items for this term before recess. As a reward for your good results for this term's English Language Test, you were given an additional five minutes for recess. You were also given a "coupon" to claim a free cup of ice-cream from the drinks stall in the canteen. That was my little gift to you. I hope you enjoyed your ice-cream! :)

Jenna came to visit us during recess. She brought some food and drinks along too. So many of you were so excited to see her again!

After recess, we had our computer lesson with Mr Edwin. He needed you to finish up your illustrations from a few weeks ago, so we ended up with no more time left for you to work on your hybrid animals. We will continue with that next term

We then spent time completing corrections for your "The Best Pet" booklet before moving on to continue with your plasticine textured artwork. Here are some of your masterpieces:

Janine's cat and fish

Luke's lion

 Elijah's

Sheena's

These are today's reminders:

1) Show your parents the composition your wrote for the Composition Test. Ask for a signature. Bring it back tomorrow for me to check.

2) Show your parents your "The Best Pet" booklet and ask for a signature. Bring it back tomorrow for me to check. Ezra, Risa, Janine and Brian, your booklets are still with me because I gave them out after you left for your rehearsal. You will get them tomorrow.

3) There will be a short Teachers' Day celebration in the hall tomorrow afternoon, so pledge-taking for all of us will start early at 12.15 p.m instead of 12.30 p.m.. Be in the hall by 12.15 p.m..

4) If you did not claim your free ice-cream from the drinks-seller today, tomorrow will be your last chance to do so. If you do not like or are not allowed to eat ice-cream, you may give your coupon to a friend.

See you tomorrow for our last day together this term! :)
