Beloved children,
We did not win any medal for Lower Primary Sports Day today, but the medals don't matter.
Each one of you is still a winner to me, because I know you did your best. What really mattered was that each one of you gave the game your best shot. You worked with your teammates, and you played fairly. In those ways, you are a winner.
However, many of you were, at the same time, a loser too. We had children who lost their temper when they knew that they would not win a medal. We had children who lost their love for others and refused to clap for the classes that won. That is not the way good children should behave.
In life, you don't always win. When you do win, be thankful and be humble. When you don't, congratulate those who won and aim to improve yourself. Hopefully, you will keep these in mind as you grow up.
I hope you like the bookmark that I made for you for Children's Day. Your bookmark is unique - no other person on this earth has the same one. However, I must make it clear that the picture on your bookmark was not drawn by me; the quote was also not written by me. I chose them from the internet and put them together for you because I thought they were suitable for you. May you be inspired by your bookmark for the year(s) ahead! :)
I know many of you are interested in what your friends received, so here is the complete set of P2/2 bookmarks. You can click on the first picture to zoom in and read the full set.
I have marked your spelling books and these are the 14 Super Spellers for yesterday's spelling:
Christian and Seth from Slugterra
Brian from Amazon
Janine and Zhi Zong from Minecraft
Luke, Risa and Shineta from Universe
Raeann and Richelle from Cloudburst
Phoebe and Thaneeisha from Diamond
Joel and Natalie from Autumn
Each of these children earned 3 ice-cream sticks for his or her group for October.
Here are today's announcements:
1) You would have received your Math Examination Practice from me today with your corrections marked. We have not finished going through Section A of that paper, so I will be putting up a short video on this blog tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. to go through that. Watch it and work on your corrections before next Tuesday. If you have further questions about that section, you may ask me on Tuesday when we are back in school. This homework is compulsory.
2) After spending tomorrow enjoying Children's Day, you should be spending part of this long weekend preparing for your examinations. Spend some time on your weak areas in math, then quickly move on to English. For English, review the 9 booklets that you presently have with you. Study your spelling lists for all 4 terms again. Look at your English test papers too. Plan carefully how you would want to spend the time that you have so that you won't waste it.
3) You will be working on a second Math Examination Practice on Tuesday and an English Examination Practice on either Thursday or Friday. The same rules for earning ice-cream sticks for your group will apply.
4) There will be no art lesson on Tuesday, so you do not need to bring any materials. We will need to spend the time completing what we have not completed for English. I promise you more time for art after the examinations.
Have an enjoyable Children's Day and a fruitful weekend with your family! See you back in school on Tuesday! :)

Hi David, both are acceptable in society. However, for school-related work, please use the one without the comma.
DeleteMr Wong, I just realised that Jonathan accidentally gave me Amelie's green Geometry booklet.
ReplyDeleteSeth
Well Seth, you've got to apologise to Amelie tomorrow for accidentally bringing it back home without checking whether the booklet is yours. Please pass it back to Amelie tomorrow.
