Dear children,
I am sure you enjoyed the performances put up by the Parent Support Group for you this afternoon to celebrate Children's Day. The Little Red Hen skit, the Indian dance and the three songs were all so enjoyable! Here are some pictures of the performances:
I could see that many of you enjoyed the song "When You Believe" when Uncle Roger sang it for us. In case you did not know, this beautiful song is from the 1998 movie "Prince of Egypt". Here's a YouTube video of the song as sung in the movie for you to enjoy. There are lyrics in the video too. :)
We gave out the Group of the Month award for September to Minecraft today. Jonathan received his Level 5 prizes - a Kinokuniya book voucher and a Laptop Access Pass - for winning the Group of the Month award for the fifth time this year! Janine received her Level 2 prizes while Qistina and Zhi Zong received their Level 1 prizes. Well done, Minecraft! :)
These are the achievements of each group:
Did you know that out of the 47 ice-cream sticks earned by Minecraft, 27 of them were earned because 3 of its members scored more than 90 marks for the Math Examination Practice? :)
Here's a list of the 11 children who scored 90 marks and above for the Examination Practice:
Slugterra: Seth (96)
Amazon: Brian (91)
Minecraft: Zhi Zong (96), Jonathan (91) & Janine (91)
Universe: Luke (98)
Jewel: Ashley (93) & Isaac (93)

If you want to know how well you are doing in comparison to your classmates, clicking on this chart will give you an idea:
No matter what your results are, remember that it is not the end of the world. This Examination Practice is supposed to prepare you for the actual examination, so if you did not do too well this time, you know it's time to look at where you went wrong! Work on those areas so that you become better at them! :)
We did not manage to finish going through the entire Math Examination Practice today although we spent almost all our time together doing that. Please show your paper to your parents and ask for a signature before bringing it back tomorrow for me to mark your corrections. They need to have an idea of what the Math Examination will be like so that they can help you in your preparation over this long weekend.
These are today's reminders:
1) We will be having our Lower Primary Sports Day tomorrow. I believe all children from P2/2 JOY will do their best! :)
I will see you straight at Bedok Sports Hall at 12.15 p.m.. You should wear your House T-shirt and P.E. shorts. Sports shoes are allowed. Besides your Math Examination Practice, please also bring along your water bottle and a storybook. You may bring along some light snacks if you want.
2) If you have CCA in the morning before 12.15 p.m., your CCA teacher should already have told you about the arrangement.
3) If your parents are picking you up from Bedok Sports Hall tomorrow, please ask them to do so at 5 p.m..
See you tomorrow for a day of sports and fun! :)
Thank you Mr Wong and may God bless you!
